New York Steak Salad – another recipe to cook codependency away

Steak salad (1) This is one of my favorite salads from Toscana in LA. It’s delicious, takes minutes to prepare, and banishes any need for carbohydrates. Salmon is a great substitute.

  • New York steak
  • Salt, black pepper
  • Arugula
  • Parmesan cheese

Barbecue steak – 3 minutes per side for medium. Allow to rest 10 minutes and slice into ¾  inch strips. Place arugula in a mixing bowl and coat lightly with dressing.  Pile on a plate, place a few strips of steak over the top and with a vegetable peeler, scatter Parmesan shavings.

Balsamic Dressing

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup olive oil

Whisk the first four ingredients together, slowly pour in the olive oil whisking all the time until the mixture emulsifies.

Thanks for the recipe. I prepare something similar using fresh spinach, cream cheese, parmesan cheese and walnuts. I season with aceto balsamico and olive oil. (No meat, I’m vegetarian 🙂 ). Delicious!
